Nestled in the hills of Coniston you’ll find Church Beck, one of the best and most popular ghyll scrambling venues in the Lake District.
The ghyll has many natural features that with your instructor can jump, climb and slide making it the ultimate natural play ground.
With so any features on offer we will tailor every session to you and your group making it perfect for kids as well as adults, all you need is a good sense of adventure.
We will provide you with all the safety equipment you need as well as one of our 4mm Crew Saver wetsuits to keep you warm so you can make the most of your session and not worry about the cold Lake District waters.

Stickle Ghyll, Langdale
What should you expect
Deep into the Langdale valley you’ll find Stickle Ghyll a great family ghyll where everyone can get involved in the middle of some stunning Lake District scenery.
This ghyll is a little less extreme than the other ghyll’s we offer but that doesn’t take away from the adventure. This makes it the perfect introduction to Lake District ghyll scrambling and perfect for children.
Frequently Asked Questions
For Genuine Adventures water activities, this includes paddleboarding and ghyll scrambling. You will need the following with you on the day:
- Swimming Costume
- A pair of old shorts to where on the outside of the wetsuit
- Good fitting footwear like old trainers or boots (will get very wet) flip flops, crocs, and watershoes are not appropriate.
- Towel
- Full change of clothes
