Payments

All Activities are to be paid for in full at the time of booking online, via Bank Transfer or BACS on our website.

Availability

All Activities are subject to availability.

Bookings should be made at least 4 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment. you should only consider your booking complete when you receive a confirmation email from us. (this may take up to 24 Hours to come through.)

Minimum Numbers

Some of our activities need a minimum number of clients to attend and these are identified in the activity details, together with an appropriate deadline. Genuine Adventures reserves the right to cancel any activity and will give a full refund or transfer to the next available course/activity.

Age & Health Restrictions

For safety reasons, some activities may have certain other age and health restrictions.  Details will be given with each activity enquiry. When booking, we ask that you declare any medical conditions relating to the people covered by your booking. We cannot accept any responsibility for any condition not disclosed.

Weather

Most activities take place regardless of weather conditions. In the unlikely event we think the weather or other relevant conditions are totally unsuitable for the activity you wish to take part in, we shall make every effort to suggest an alternative activity or alternative dates for your activity/ies.

The decision to cancel any activity will only be made by the Lead Instructor or the Instructor running the activity.

Cancellations

We reserve the right to reschedule the timings or location of any activity or to make minor changes and we will contact you with full details of any such alterations. In the event that we have to cancel your activity, due to insufficient numbers or any other factors beyond our/your control (weather), you are welcome to choose an alternative activity of the same value (or make up the difference) or we can offer a full refund.

You hold the right to change or cancel any booking free of charge up to 7 days before the day of your activity. In the event of cancelations, a full refund will be given for those cancelling at least 7 days before. Any cancellations made between 7 and 2 days before the day of your activity will be offered a 50% refund. For any cancellations made within 48 hours of your booking, no refunds will be offered.

In the event of cancellation due to COVID-19 symptoms, government restrictions or track and trace instructions, a full refund or change of date will always be offered free of charge.

Our Responsibilities

We cannot accept responsibility unless you or any member of your party suffer as a result of any proven failure to perform, or improper performance of, any part of our contract with you by any of our employees, agents or sub-contractors (providing they were carrying out work authorised by us). We cannot accept any responsibility where an injury, damage or loss resulted from; any act or omission of the person or persons affected, any act or omission of a third party not connected with your activity and which were not foreseen or unavoidable, an event which neither Genuine Adventures nor the activity provider could have foreseen or avoided even with all due care. All activities carry a certain element of risk and we work hard to ensure that our activities are as safe as possible. The client, however, does accept that there are inherent risks when partaking in adventurous activities.

Your Responsibilities

Genuine Adventures takes safety very seriously and has very high standards of both quality and safety. However, outdoor activities by their very nature do contain some element of risk and it is a condition of booking that our clients understand this.

In the interests of safety:

  • You undertake to follow the advice of your instructor
  • Follow the country code
  • Act sensibly and prudently at all times.

Instructors reserve the right not to complete the activity with clients who may be deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or otherwise unfit to partake in the activity.

When you book with us, you accept responsibility for your own property and any equipment issued as part of a lesson or for hiring. You accept responsibility for any damage or loss caused by you or any member of your party and indemnify us against any claims (including legal costs) subsequently made against us as a result of your actions.

Injuries

You (the client) must report any injury immediately to your instructor. Details of your injury will be annotated in our accident book.

Failure to notify us of injuries sustained whilst on activity will affect our ability to record health and safety incidents properly.

Disclaimer Notice

All our activities are physical and demanding sports, which obviously have inherent hazards associated with them.

Whilst Genuine Adventures takes all necessary precautions to try and ensure the safety of all participants, unfortunately, accidents can occur in consequence. Each participant should familiarise themselves with the hazards and try to minimise these as much as possible by complying with Exmoor Adventures’ risk management guidelines.

The management accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any loss or injury resulting from any persons’ involvement in activities. Furthermore, it is understood and agreed that individuals participate at their own risk.

We do not cover our customers with Personal Injury Insurance.
